Many countries around the world are in a period of the either partial or total lock down due to the 2019 novel coronavirus disease and for the umpth time, Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie has put his stingy nature on full display.
Some parts of Ghana including Sarkodie’s hood Tema are currently under lock down. And instead of him to do the needful by donating free COVID-19 relief items to his neighborhood people, Sarkodie has rather decided to fuel beefs and pitch legendary beat makers against each other.
Mind you, these are not normal times and there has not been a time in this modern world where Ghanaians have been more afraid for their lives than now.
So being an entertainer with a large following, making donations and making sure that your fans stay safe is very vital to your brand as an artiste.
Sarkodie is not in the country; but that does not mean that his money is also not in the country; yes, if he wants to really do it, his manager “Angel” is in Ghana.
NB: Recent donation was not from Sarkodie
Some will claim that he has made a donation of free COVID-19 relief items which is not true. On Tuesday the 7th of April 2020, pictures flooded social media showing Sarkodie’s manager Angel supposedly leading a group of young men to distribute free food packs to some inhabitants of Tema. Yes, we all saw these pictures and breathed a sigh of relief since our continuous pressure on the BET Best International Flow Award winning had finally yielded results.
However, 4 days later, depunch.com got wind of information revealing the circumstances which led to the distribution of the free lunch; it was never from Sarkodie’s pocket.
Well, the gist is; a die-hard Sark native by name Shawny Bills was celebrating his birthday on that fateful Tuesday and wanted to do something in the name of the SarkCess brand. So he opted to distribute free lunch to his own Tema people. So you see? The food was not from Sarkodie but rather a Sark Native.
So this is the reason why Sarkodie is yet to post pictures of the distribution on his social media handles; No, he cannot claim that glory. And he has not been bold enough to deny or accept the donation; although the media has attributed it to his name and brand.
The best thing our “King Stingy” could do was to wish Shawny Bills a happy birthday on his Facebook time line and piously thank him for the kind gesture on his behalf.
Also, another indicator is where the President of the Sark Native fandom, Fada SarkCess Richie did not mention Sarkodie when he posted pictures of the donation on Facebook. He only wrote; “SarkCess love”.
So my question here is; “When will King Sark donate free COVID-19 relief items to his people”? Something which the likes of Shatta Wale, John Dumelo, Edem, Stonebwoy and Afia Schwarzenegger are freely doing? His stingy is utterly DISGUSTING!!!
