Yes, the headline you saw right here is very true. Just imagine the damage that had already been caused when they finally quenched the fire.
Depunch.com reported earlier in the day that the Makola market was in flames. And funny enough, there were fire tenders stationed right close to the fire scene. But they were unable to function.
And the only excuse they had was that the hydrants in the tenders did not have the requisite pressure to get to the top do the burning three-storey building.

According to a TV3 news report, the first fire tender which got to the scene had no water in it. And according to eye witnesses, if the first fire tender had high pressure, the fire would have easily been put out.
The cause of Monday‘s fire is yet to be known but initial observations point to a generator in one of the shops.
It took nine tenders from near-by stations to bring the inferno under control.
