‘We Keep To Our Game Plan And Trust In The Process Even When Games Get Very Tough’ – Kotoko Coach Explains Late Winners So Far

Head trainer for Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club, Prosper Narteh Ogum says he believes in his game plan no matter how long it takes in the game for the Porcupine Warriors to score.

In their long absence of honoring their home matches at their favorite ground, the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Kotoko locked horns with Brong-Ahafo based club Bechem United on Match Day 2 of the Ghana Premier League.

Prosper Ogum’s Kotoko, after the hard work of regular time, left it late to beat their visitors by 2 goals to nil in their first game in the Baba Yara Stadium after a year of absence.

Meanwhile according to coach Prosper Ogum in his post-match interaction, he stated that; “It was a very good game and for me, because if you look at how tactical the game was. They were defensively organized, and because of that, they didn’t allow us to play penetrative passes”.

“It was very difficult for us to get the ball behind their defense. We still kept to our game plan; we also trusted in our process even when it was difficult, we trust that we can still score. No matter the situation we don’t change our style, we keep to the shape, the game plan, and keep to the principles involves in the game plan”.

“That is what we have been doing. I think we just started; and with time, the new game model I am trying to develop in them will work. So it will take some time as they will be used to the game model”. He further noted

Meanwhile, Kotoko will travel to the Western North Region to engage newly promoted side, Bibiani Gold Stars FC at Dun’s park in Match Day 3 of the Ghana Premier League.
