Veteran Ghanaian filmmaker and actor Bob Smith Jnr, widely known in the movie circle as Diabolo Man has disclosed how news of the death of his friend and colleague Waakye, hit him so hard.
Diabolo and Waakye have worked on a number of movies together; and the latter reportedly died on Tuesday after protractedly battling with stroke. And according to Diabolo, he nearly fainted when he was told the sad news.
He told Graphic Showbiz, “Waakye has been sick but he got a bit well and was managing but got an attack on Monday night.

“After being unsuccessful to secure a bed for him at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and the Greater Accra Regional Hospital (Ridge Hospital), the family eventually took him to the 37 Military Hospital where they managed to get him a bed after a lot of hustle“.
“He had such a restless night till he finally gave up the ghost in the afternoon of Tuesday. He was such a humble person and I will really miss him’’ Diabolo stated.
Bob Smith Jnr aka Diabolo man further stated that he was in touch with a number of industry people and they are planning to go see his family tomorrow afternoon.
