Accra Great Olympics forward, Maxwell Nii Abbey Quaye has set the Premier League golden boot award as his target; as he wants to emerge as the top goalscorer at the end of the 2021-2022 season.
He set this target after scoring his first hat-trick in the ongoing Ghana Premier League.
Abbey Quaye, 23, was the first player to score a hat trick in the 2021/2022 league season against Accra Lions on Match Day 2.
Speaking at the post-match interview, he assured his fans of banging in more goals to top the goal-scoring table.
“Firstly, I will give thanks to the Almighty God. Secondly, to the technical team especially the coach for encouraging us. Before this game, we drew in an away match, we had to come back home to the drawing board and do our things right. In our training grounds, everybody was determined to do something to take the three points at all costs”.
Abbey Quaye, opening up on his secret leading to his hat trick said; “I always come to the training grounds early to do my personal training before we start our regular training. So I’m not surprised that I scored this kind of goals.
“Perhaps every striker aims to be crowned a top scorer; so that is my aim as well – to score more goals for the club and bring a positive impact to the team”, he further emphasized.
