‘My Game Plan Lasted For A Few Minutes’ – Yaw Acheampong Explains XI Wonders’ Defeat To Kotoko

Head Coach of Techiman based Eleven (XI) Wonders, Yaw Acheampong has admitted that Prosper Narteh Ogum paraded a stronger squad and good strategy which frustrated his game plan; leading to his team’s defeat against Kotoko on match day 4 of the Ghana Premier League at Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

At the post match interaction, the Ex-footballer accused his players of not abiding by his tactics.

He said; “I’m a little disappointed with my boys because the strategy we brought into the game only lasted for 20-25 minutes; they adopted playing their own game.”

He further mentioned that he doesn’t feel threatened of losing his job for not recording a single win in his last four matches.

“I don’t have a problem losing my job because eight of our plays are ineligible to play. We learned that eight of our players, their cards are with the FA, and they can’t play. However, I am using what I have in our matches, so we are just doing our best”.

Coach Yaw Acheampong also explained that not having the complement of his full squad has affected the performance of his team.

“Yes, it makes my work very difficult, and we are doing our best. Eight of my strong players can’t join the squad, and you are forced to use players who are available for selection. I believe that in our next game against Elmina Sharks, we will work hard, and get our first win”, he assured the followers of the club.
