 Ibrahim Mahama is a Ghanaian entrepreneur and the richest man in Ghana. He was born on January 29, 1971, in Piase in the northern region of Ghana.

 He is the brother of former president of Ghana John Dramani Mahama and also the owner of Dzata cement.

Ibrahim Mahama was born to Emmanuel Adama Mahama, and Joyce Tamakloe. His father was the former Minister of Agriculture and the First Minister of the Northern Region under the Nkrumah regime.

He had his education at the College of North London. After his education he moved back to Ghana where he started his own retail rental firm called Engineers and Planners.

His company Engineers and Planners is on record to have built one of the largest tailings dams in West Africa for South Africa Gold mining firm, Goldfields at their Tarkwa mining site.

He also worked for for other companies such as the Canadian mining firm, Golden Star Resources at Mpohor in the Western region of Ghana.

According to history Ibrahim Mahama was the first to open the Liberian economy to commercial mining activities. He also won the contract to mine the iron ore concession for ArcelorMittal in Yekepa.

In 2018 he was awarded the African Industrialist of the Year at the African Achievers’ Award in London.

Aside from setting up and heading one of the biggest and most successful mining firms in Africa, Engineers, and Planners, Mahama has found time to work on some other things. He owns Hallman Brothers, Asutsuare Farms, MBG Ltd, real estate, and the newly launched Dzata Cement.
