Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent Ghana a congratulatory message as the country celebrates her 65th Independence Day today March 6.

In the statement sanctioned from the Kremlin, President Putin congratulated Ghana on her birth day. 

“Please accept my sincere congratulation on the occasion on the National Holiday of the Republic of Ghana-Independence”; the statement read. 

Vladimir Putin’s well wishes to Ghana comes on the back of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on Thursday February 24; leaving some Ghanaian students and other nationals studying in Ukraine stranded.
