VIDEO: Referee Lovia Doudu Banned Four Games After Admitting Her Incompetence In The Hasaacas Ladies VRS Berry Ladies Match 


The Match Review Panel of the Ghana Football Association has suspended center referee Lovia Doudu for four (4) matches after pleading guilty in the game between defending champions Hasaacas Ladies and Berry Ladies, resulting in a 2-2 stalemate at the Gyandu Park on week 7 of the Women’s Premier League. 

Berry Ladies logged an official complaint to the match review panel of the Ghana Football Association.

According to the complaint (Berry Ladies), the referee refused to whistle for a foul in the 70th minute. She refused to whistle the end of the game, even though the fourth official was seen signaling her that time was up. She only whistled at the end when the home team had scored.

The match Review Panel of the Ghana Football Association after perilous and analyzing the footage of the video concluded that per the video watched in the 70th minute, the attacker (No. 15) from Hasaacas pushed player (No. 25) Berry Ladies in the penalty area of Berry Ladies, but the referee failed to take the foul. This resulted in a goal for Hasaacas Ladies.

About the complaint of the 53 minutes additional time played as alleged by the Berry Ladies, the video showed that the referee played about 25 minutes. Even though the fourth Referee showed four (4) minutes additional time. It was during the additional time that Hasaacas Ladies got the equalizer.

Referees official responses.

The referee admitted that indeed there was a foul committed by Hasaacas attacker before the goal was scored. Also, she said that she forgot to start her time when Berry Ladies goalkeeper got injured, and that led to the excess additional minutes played.

Meanwhile, referee Lovia Doudu has been suspended for four (4) matches, effective the day of publication.
