Floods take over Accra after heavy rain fall

Various parts of the capital city, Accra in the Greater Accra Region have been flooded following heavy rainfall today Wednesday June 15th 2022.

The affected areas include the Tema Station, National Theatre, Kantamanto and it’s environs.

Scenes at the Tema Station Junction showed heavy gridlock as vehicles struggled to move through the flood.

The roads leading to and from the National Theatre was also submerged in the flood waters.

The situation resulted in vehicular congestion as some vehicles were unable to pass through the floodwaters.

The Ghana Meteorological Agency has given indications of more torrential rains within the season.

Meanwhile, Ghana’s Ministry for Works and Housing Minister says it will cost the government a whopping sum of over US$5 billion to solve Ghana’s perennial flooding menace.
