Former Accra Heart of Oak and Black Stars midfielder Samuel Johnson has cautioned the Black Stars, not to underrate Walias of Ethiopia in the upcoming World cup qualifiers on Saturday afternoon at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.
Black Stars of Ghana will host the Walias in the opening match of Group G in the World cup qualifiers campaign.
Meanwhile, the President of GFA, Kurt Okraku has urged the players to make history by qualifying for our 4th World Cup after shockingly failing to qualify for the 2018 World cup in Russian.
According to the former Black Stars midfielder, coach C. K. Akonnor’s side shouldn’t underrate the capabilities of the Ethiopian senior national team.
“Football is dynamics nowadays, what is on paper Black stars can beat Ethiopians”. We shouldn’t think of beating them easily, moreover, they can frustrate us during the 90 minutes, so we don’t have to go in that way”.
He added; “The media must know how to talk, they shouldn’t create the impression that the Ethiopians don’t have quality players. We should take this out of the mind of the players, and they should understand the importance of this clash.
The Ex-Fenerbahçe and Heart of oak midfielder also mentioned that the clash between the Black Stars and Walias will be a difficult game.
However, he also believed that with the player’s available to the coach and with the little motivation and support, things can go well for Ghana on Saturday, he concluded.
