Taylor Swift has officially matched Madonna for the most number one albums by any female artist in UK chart history.

As per DailyMail report, Swift’s latest album, The Tortured Poets Department, secures the top spot on the UK charts, marking her 12th number one album.

Notably, the Blank Space singer becomes the first artist to achieve 12 number one albums in the UK during 21st century.

The Tortured Poets Department, references the Love hitmaker’s personal aspects of life and also nods to her past relationships with Joe Alwyn and Matty Healy of The 1975.

Within one day of its release, the album set a record on Spotify by accumulating over 300 million streams.

On UK albums chart, second position is secured by Pearl Jam’s Dark Matter, meanwhile, Act II: Cowboy Carter by Beyoncé has moved to number three.

The album’s sales in its first week also surpassed the previous record of Swift’s own album, Midnights.

Besides the album, Swift’s single, Fortnight featuring Post Malone has secured number one on the single charts.
