When calls for #FixTheCountry is made and people try to read politics into it, it is really sad. Why should it take calls from 2 Members of Parliament before a 12-year-old citizen of the country gets a bed to lie on in a hospital?
Well, that is exactly what has happened. The 12-year-old son on an Assembly Member has lost his life after delays in securing him a bed in 37 Military Hospital; and further delays in getting an ambulance to convey him from where he was referred from, to 37.
This news was broken by the NDC Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram, Hon. Samuel Nartey George, who expressed his anger and sadness due to circumstances leading to the lad’s death.
TRENDING:
According to him, it took the intervention of himself and a colleague MP, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa to secure a bed for the dying child at 37 Military hospital.
Then it was left with an ambulance to convey him to the facility. The ambulance was finally gotten. But they were waiting for confirmation from the referral facility, 37 Military hospital, to convey the boy there; something which never came until his unfortunate demise at 8pm yesterday evening.
We will continue to lose innocent souls like this little 12-year-old boy and others including expectant mothers if our poor healthcare delivery system is not fixed.
Government, #FixTheCountryNow!!!
