Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher have parted ways after 14 years of marriage.
For the unfamiliar, in her tell-all memoir Rebel Rising, Rebel Wilson accused Sacha Baron Cohen of sexually assaulting her during the filming of 2016’s comedy movie Grimsby.
After this confession, Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher announced that they have filed for divorce, and it was surmised that Rebel’s claims “WERE the catalyst for his break-up.”
Now, a new report by Us Weekly established that the pair’s marriage was going through a rough patch long before Rebel alleged abuse.
An insider privy to the outlet shared that the pair’s fallout has “nothing to do” with these allegations, as “they have been living separate lives since last year.”
“But wanted to give this space and time for their children to be OK with this before the news came out and they got all this attention,” they explained regarding the couple’s shocking announcement.
Before concluding the chat, the source mentioned about the former couple, “They are notoriously very private people and wanted to focus on their family.”
