AshantiGold interim coach Thomas Duah has blamed his defenders for giving the Porcupine Warriors a 3-1  victory in their Asanteman derby on Match day 12 of the ongoing Ghana Premier League at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday 9, January 2021.

Cameroonian goal orchestrator Franck Mbella Thierry Etuoga was at his best on the day finding his scoring boots as he went ahead to bag the first hat trick in the 2021/2022 Ghana Premier League for Kotoko.

Speaking at the post match interview, coach Dauh failed to credit the Fabulous warriors for their victory in the match; he rather blamed Ampem Dacosta for giving the home side a cheap goal.

“Some of my defenders lost concentration during the game; they kept making similar mistakes. I spoke about it after the first half but Dacosta made some mistakes in the first department of the game, and in the second half, he made similar mistakes.”

Coach Duah reiterated that the stubbornness of his defenders caused their defeat.

“All the three goals we conceded weren’t a working ball from Kotoko, our defenders gave the goals out.”

“We will correct our mistakes at training, and this time we need to encourage the players. The Kotoko team is not a bad team, but I won’t say they’re league contenders because the points are very close. It is too early to say that”.
