Meaning of Machala
Machala simply means a person or something of great importance and significance that has great influence and has accomplished great achievements in the community they find themselves.
When people call you a Machala, they are likening you to a “Lion”, “a king” or “a boss” who commands a lot of respect wherever you are.
Award winning Nigerian afrobeat musician, Wizkid is mostly referred to as a Machala by his fans and his loyal Wizkid FC fan club due to his international success and the great influence his music has all over the world.
In that same vein, Carter Efe, a Nigerian comedian and singer wrote and dropped a song “Machala” with inspirations from Wizkid. According to him, he now also feels he has attained the status of a Machala after meeting with Wizkid in Ghana. And the song has become an instant hit on Instagram.
