Interim coach for Elmina Sharks FC, Mallam Yahaya has intimated that their loss to the defending champions, Accra Hearts Of Oak SC in week 8 of the Ghana Premier League will not affect their subsequent matches; but will rather encourage them to work extra hard on their goal scoring abilities to be able to become victorious in the rest of their Premier League matches.
When asked about the performances of his team at a post match interview, Mallam Yahaya stated that; “It wasn’t a bad game tactically, both teams played very well, we got our chances to score, and we couldn’t make it.”
Unfortunately, he expressed his frustration at how they were robbed on their home grounds.
“I don’t want to talk about officiating. For that one, I will be very very quiet since everybody saw what the referee did.”
“We have to accept the loss, we are going to correct our mistakes for the next match.” So that we can back up, and win the rest of our matches.”
He added that losing to the defending champions won’t influence their next game.
“I don’t think it is difficult, we are playing well, we created more chances but finishing is our problem.” We are going to work on our finishing, however we have nine matches to play in the first half of the league. We try hard to back up, at least to try to win the remaining matches. He assured Elmina Sharks supporters.
