Britain’s King Charles has received a heartbreaking news as his beloved friend Donald Cameron of Lochiel has died aged 77.
According to media reports, Tory MSP Donald Cameron, who was the 27th chief of Clan Cameron, passed away in his sleep last Friday in Scotland.
Cameron and his wife, the Lady Cecil Nennella Therese Kerr were close friends of the British monarch.
King Charles was the sponsor at the Christening of Donald Cameron of Lochiel’s daughter, Catherine.
On the other hand, Donald Cameron of Lochiel’s son has paid a touching tribute to his father.
He said: “My whole family is devastated by the sudden death of my father last week. He was the most courageous and loving of men, who adored his family, friends and the wider community in Lochaber.
“As clan chief and Lord Lieutenant of Inverness, he was at the heart of life in the West Highlands and although he lived with MS (multiple sclerosis) for many years, he was always positive and uncomplaining.
“We will miss him greatly but are comforted by the many messages of condolence we have received.”
