IGP Dampare Cautions Prophets Owusu Bempah And Nigel Gaissie Ahead Of 31st Night ‘Doomsday’ Prophecies

One of the highlights of new year in Ghana is “doomsday prophecies” from some self-styled prophets who carry themselves around as the mouth piece of God.

It has become a regular ritual where after crossing over to the new year, these Ghanaian prophets “prophecy” about things to befall the nation or popular individuals.

Notable amongst these prophets are Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah who is aligned to the ruling New Patriotic Party and Prophet Nigel Gaissie who is aligned to the leading opposition party, the National Democratic Congress.

Most of these prophecies from far back as 2 years ago are yet to happen whilst others have partially occurred.

We are fast approaching another 31st half night to usher in the new year, and ahead of this year’s 31st night, Ghana’s new “no-nonsense” Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akufo-Dampare has warned such prophets in a press release against dropping their usual “fake” prophecies.

According to the statement, anyone who causes fear and panic with their “false” prophecies this year will face up to 5 years in prison.
