The Head coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Prosper Narteh Ogum has hailed Ibrahim Danlad, who rose to the occasion and marshaled the goalkeeping department with so much confidence in their goalless draw against Brekum Chelsea in Week 13 of the Ghana Premier League at Golden City Park.

At the post match interview, coach Narteh Ogum described the former U-20 goalie as the best, safest pair of hands for the “Porcupine Warriors” have.

Ibrahim Danland kept Kotoko in the game by pulling out a gorgeous save from the spot kick in the second half of the game.

“Excellent performance, he is very confident he is a player coach on the field; that is how I will term him. Danlad is able to command the defense line and able to tell them what to do if we are with the ball. He is able to coach them to create the necessary spaces and, if we are not, with the ball, able to tell them to do the tackles and markings clean”, coach Narteh Ogum said.

The former WAFA gaffer also explained that “Kotoko were not able to create obvious goal scoring opportunities. The chances that came were either quarter or vague chances and in these chances, you need to be focused to convert them”, he further stated.

“Tactically, we are compact, and we defended very well, I think I must commend my defenders as well; especially my center pair Ganiyu and Mubarik. They were just splendid, they were opportune and able to mark their opponents. They were able to anticipate the ball into spaces and always ready for the first ball that they got”, he concluded.
