Ghana Women’s Premier League champions, Hasaacas Ladies have been housed in Group A alongside Malabo King’s FC, Wadi Degla FC, and AS Mande in the inaugural edition of the Total Energies CAF Women’s Champions League which will be staged in Cairo – Egypt from the 5th to 19th of November 2021.
The draw which took place at the CAF headquarters in Cairo was led by CAF Director of Competitions Samson Adamu, with the assistance of Nigerian Legend Perpetual Nkwocha and the captain of Wadi Degla FC and the National Women’s Team of Egypt, Alia Zenouki.
The opening game will see host and 12 times Egyptian champions Wadi Degla FC face it off with AS Mande, WAFU A qualifiers champions and three-time champions of Mali.
Both teams were housed in Group A alongside Malabo King’s FC, winner of the UNIFFAC Qualifiers and champions of Equatorial Guinea League, as well as Hasaacas Ladies FC (Ghana), winner of the WAFU B qualifiers and super- powerful house of Ghana.
Group B will pit Vihiga Queens – winner of the qualifiers of the CECAFA zone and the Women’s Football League Champions in Kenya, Mamelodi Sundowns – winner of COSAFA qualifiers and three-time champions of South Africa, ASFAR (Morocco) – winner of the UNAF qualifiers as well as Rivers Angels (Nigeria), runners-up of the WAFU B qualifiers and Nigeria Champions.
