The Minister for Youth and Sports, and Member of Parliament for Yagab-Kubori Constituency, Hon. Mustapha Ussif has disclosed that under the watch of His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the ministry has constructed over 70 astroturfs across the country.
Hon. Mustapha Ussif was giving a speech at the maiden edition of the First Lady’s cup in Her Excellency, Rebecca Akufo-Addo’s office on Wednesday evening where he stated that the Ministry has constructed over 70 astroturfs and 10 youth and resources centers.
“Before the assumption of office of His Excellence as the President of the Republic, the country could only brag of two astroturfs. As we speak today under the leadership of His Excellency the President of the Republic, Nana Addo has constructed over 70 astroturfs in the country”.
Mustapha Ussif further noted that;
“These astroturf are for both male and female leagues in our country and his abled leadership of His Excellency. There are 10 youth and resources centers, 5000 seaters simultaneously, being constructed across the previous 10 regions.
“And when these are completed, it is going to host both men and women football in this country. There is also renovation works currently on going in our stadiums both in Accra, Kumasi and Sekondi”, he stated.
The ultra-modern youth centers would have not less than 5,000 seating capacity according to the former Minister For Youth and Sports, Isaac Asiamah; and would house over 15 sporting disciplines.
