American comedian Michael Blackson has disclosed in a recent interview with Ghana’s Doreen Avio of Joy News that a Cathedral is not one of Ghana’s biggest needs at the moment.
The comedian based in America and of Ghanaian descent corroborated his position by saying that the problems in Ghana are enormous which he has personally encountered since he came to the country, and definitely a cathedral is not one of them.
He said; “I went to buy gas [fuel] today, I live in California and it’s just the same price in Ghana. Why is gas the same price in California as it is in Ghana? It makes no sense. The average income in California is probably $250,000 a year“.
“The average income in Ghana is about $150 a month. We have bigger problems than a cathedral. How is the Uber driver going to make money if gas prices cost so much?”
In similar fashion, Michael Blackson recently complained about the prevailing hardship in the country in a post he shared on Twitter.
Michael who has been in the country for some time said things are very expensive in Ghana than in America.
He came to this consensus when he tried buying a set of furniture somewhere in Accra and the prices mentioned sounded outrageous to him. Commenting, Michael said;
His post reads; “C’mon Ghana why are things so damn expensive? I just tried to buy furniture and appliances and they are over twice the price of what they cost me in the U.S.”
