Young budding Ghanaian musician, Thorsten Owusu Gyimah better known by stage name, Yaw TOG has been nominated for the EMY Africa Awards.
This comes after he received awards at the just ended Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) and the 3Music Awards.
He rose to fame after his first single, “Sore”, became an instant hit; and considering how Ghanaians have accepted him, this is just the beginning.
His nomination comes on the back of his release of a 7-track EP dubbed My Time.
He becomes the youngest nominee in this year’s awards scheme as he was nominated in the Best Discovery of The Year category.
He has been nominated alongside Ghana’s biggest YouTuber, Wode Maya as well as renowned personalities like Steve French and Kwabena Offei-Kwadey Nkrumah.
The list of nominees for the 6th EMY Africa Awards 2021 was announced at the official launch event on 31st July.
