Ghana and Sivasspor midfielder Isaac Coffie has called on the technical team of the senior national team, the Black Stars to cast their scouting net wide, and invite quality players into the national team to build a fearsome team for the upcoming 2022 Africa Cup of Nations tournament and Qatar 2024 World Cup qualifier.
Coffie, 30, believes he doesn’t have a problem with anybody in the technical team and could have his chance into the Black Stars team. However, he noted that the technical team of the Black Stars haven’t cast their net wide to cover the Turkish league.
Speaking on Asempa FM, he said; “Benjamin Tettey got a call-up, so I think the coach will now look more into the Turkish league. And allow us to showcase what we have and get the call-up. I feel that there is no criteria for the selection of the Black Stars players, so you can’t say much”.
The former Carpi and Piacenza player continued that If there was a criteria you fall in, and you aren’t given a call-up, then you can make a case for yourself.
“Ghana has a lot of talent, so I keep on working and being consistent as I have been hoping, the opportunity will come. Anytime a player is called into a national team, it is always a plus, and it boosts your career”.
The former Sassuolo, Chievo, and Genoa stalwart midfielder stated that he wouldn’t say, not getting a call-up has affected his career. Perhaps, it would have added something if he has been called.
