Dolly Parton expressed the wish that Beyoncé should recreate the magic of her hit track Jolene. Two years later, the latter rolled out her album Cowboy Carter which featured the song.

“I don’t know if she’s even got the message, but wouldn’t that be killer?” she told Daily Show’s Trevor Noah in 2022.

The veteran singer continued, “I would just love to hear ‘Jolene’ done in just a big way, kind of like how Whitney [Houston] did my ‘I Will Always Love You.’ Just someone that can take my little songs and make them powerhouses.”

Amid the release of the album on Friday, the track received rave reviews from the critics.

Not to mention, the country legend also chipped her part in the song by recording a special intro.

“Hey miss Honey Bey, it’s Dolly P,” the 78-year-old crooned. “You know that hussy with the good hair you sang about? Reminded me of someone I knew back when.”
