The President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has given Ghanaian boxer Samuel Takyi a car and $10,000 for his exploits during the Olympic Games at Tokyo 2020.
Ghana’s contingent at the just ended Tokyo Olympic Games paid a courtesy call on President Nana Addo at Jubilee House on Friday 20th August, 2021. The President congratulated them and as their reward, each member of the team will receive a reward of Five thousand dollars ($5,000), of which three thousand dollars ($3,000) will be given to the athlete, and Two thousand dollars ($2,000) used for an investment for them.
Meanwhile, Ghana’s only medallist, Samuel Takyi, will receive a car, Ten thousand dollars ($10,000), and an additional twenty thousand dollars ($20,000) which will be put in a career development fund for him, for the next Olympic games and future tournaments.
