Technical Director of Dreams FC Abdul-Karim Zito’s dream of breaking down the supremacy of the “Porcupine Warriors” was shut down by coach Prosper Narteh Ogum; as Kotoko lashed the “Still believes” lads by 3 goals to 1 in their season opener at their newly adopted home grounds, Accra Sports Stadium on match day one of Ghana Premier League (GPL).
The new Asante Kotoko SC coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum expanded Kotoko’s winning streak over Dreams FC. Meeting 7 times, the “Porcupine Warriors” have won 6 whiles the “still believe” boys have won just a game against the 22 times league champions.
During his post-match interview, Karim Zito stated that they wanted to break down the supremacy Kotoko had over Dreams FC.
“In the later part of the game when we scored the goal, my boys relaxed a little”. And it turned out that Kotoko kept on fighting, and they deserved the win. He admitted.
“Yes, it is the lack of concentration and instruction given to them. A game never ends until it ends, is never over until it is over. And still, the ball can be played, so we shouldn’t have relaxed.
The Coach of the Black Starlets added that; “We should have managed the game and do what we could to frustrate Kotoko, but they were in to win. Perhaps they proved they were the better side”, he concluded.
Issahaku Fataw broke the deadlock in the 64th minute for Dreams FC, whilst Salifu Mudasiru got the equalizer.
Debutant Richmond Lamptey and Isaac Oppong registered their names on the scoresheet, making it 3-1 in favor of the visitors.
