Sam Taylor-Johnson broke silence on the speculations regarding Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s casting in the next James Bond flick.
In an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show on Saturday, the American director joked, “You mean that I might direct a Bond film?”
“The first woman director,” she continued to address.
Sam Taylor-Johnson also maintained, “Carry on speculating. He’d be great,” and moved on from the topic.
These statements came after the 33-year-old star also addressed these rumours in a conversation with Rolling Stone UK.
Rejecting the “pop culture studio film” machine, Aaron responded when asked about the speculations, “I can only really talk about the things I’m going to show and tell.”
“I don’t feel like I need to have a future drawn out for me. I feel like, whatever’s drawn out for me, I can f*****’ do better,” he concluded at that time.
It is pertinent to mention here that these statements were the response to a report by The Sun that he will be following in Daniel Craig’s footsteps as 007.
“Bond is Aaron’s job, should he wish to accept it. The formal offer is on the table and they are waiting to hear back,” the insider said at that time.
